Thank you for offering me this generous scholarship award in order to achieve my future goals. I have come a long way to this point and although it is unbelievable that I have made it this far, I still have many ways to go.

I always had a final goal of becoming an FBI agent and I plan to continue in pursuing that field. Nevertheless, most high school seniors find more time for leisure in their second semester. For me, it was quite the opposite. While I was growing up, I was always regarded as the “second daughter” that was always behind the shadow of my older sister. Although my parents and friends made a positive impact in my life, I always felt as if I was never quite good enough. Thus, I did the best I can to display an exemplified version of me. I applied to some of the top ranked universities this year and to my surprise was accepted to most of my choices.

My first choice this year was Chapman University located in Orange County, CA. Their beautiful campus and accelerated academic programs attracted me to their institution. After long days of constant debate, I made an executive decision and announced to my parents that I wished to attend Chapman. Unfortunately, my parents told me I could not attend due to the lack of financial aid that was offered to me. It was one of the most upsetting moments of my life. Here I was ready to embark on the next chapter of my life as my own independent self, but I believe everything happens for a reason and I realize that it is not the end of the road for me.

Although I have other choices for college, my goal to get to Chapman will not be forgotten. I have decided to attend Community College for two years and transfer over to Chapman in hopes of receiving a larger financial award in the year of 2015. I have consulted the admissions and financial offices at Chapman regrading my interests in transferring over and I plan to keep in contact with the university during my time at Community College. The university is aware of my situation and to get to there, I plan to work harder than I have ever had in the entirety of my life. This decision was not very easy to make. I never thought I was going to attend school so close to home.

I realize I will not be able to experience college as a first year and I realize life might not work out the way I have planned, but with this award I plan to invest in a successful future. I know with hard work and dedication, I will be able to accomplish my goal of transferring over to Chapman University where I can pursue my dream of becoming a renowned FBI agent. I will put this award to good use and I promise to accomplish everything to the best of my abilities. I am motivated and I am the type of person who will not give up easily. Again thank you for choosing me to receive this award, I promise that I will put it good use.
